Cohort Facilitators
Christopher Johnson, PhD, MSW, LCSW has been the chief executive officer of the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center since January 2014. Johnson earned a Bachelor’s of Social Work degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead, a Master’s of Social Work degree from the University of Minnesota and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education with a focus on Institutional Analysis from North Dakota State University. Prior to taking the helm at RACC, he held multiple direct practice and administrative roles focusing on case management, group facilitation, program evaluation / development and organizational leadership within various human service organizations. Johnson has devoted time to teaching undergraduate courses, presenting to various stakeholder groups and serving on multiple committees focused on promoting safe and healthy communities. He has extensive experience providing and evaluating trauma-informed programming with at-risk and homeless youth and currently serves on the board of directors of Council on Abused Women’s Services (CAWS). Chris lives in Fargo with his wife, Ashley and their children Alexandra and Carter.
Dana Schaar Jahner is the executive director of the North Dakota Association of Nonprofit Organizations (NDANO). Prior to working with NDANO and other statewide associations, she was employed in the museum field in education and administration. She has a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and political science from North Dakota State University and a master’s degree in museum and field studies with a public/administrative emphasis from the University of Colorado-Boulder.
